Eyelid Surgery

Your eyes are often the first thing people notice about you—and they’re key to expressing emotion and making meaningful connections. Over time, the delicate skin around your eyes can begin to show signs of aging, resulting in drooping eyelids, excess skin, and a tired or worn appearance.

These age-related changes can do more than affect your confidence—they may even interfere with your vision, making everyday activities more difficult. In some cases, medical conditions can also impact the function of your eyelids.

At Inland Eye Specialist, we understand the importance of both form and function when it comes to your eyes. Our experienced oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Angela Perry, specializes in eyelid surgery to restore natural eyelid function and help you achieve your aesthetic
goals.

What Is Eyelid Surgery?

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure designed to improve both the appearance and function of the eyelids. As we age, the skin around the eyes can stretch and sag, sometimes to the point of interfering with vision. Additionally, issues like tumors, skin cancer, or structural abnormalities can affect the eyelids.

Eyelid surgery can address these concerns—removing excess skin and fat, tightening surrounding muscles, and ultimately giving you a more youthful and refreshed look. In many cases, patients even experience improved vision as a result.

What to Expect: The Steps to Eyelid Surgery

  1. Consultation
Your journey begins with a personalized consultation with Dr. Angela Perry at Inland Eye Specialist. During this visit, Dr. Perry will carefully evaluate your eye health, review your medical history, and discuss your cosmetic concerns and expectations. A comprehensive eye exam will help determine whether you’re a good candidate for the procedure. If so, she will develop a customized treatment plan to suit your individual needs.
  2. Procedure
Eyelid surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. The specific surgical technique will depend on whether you need upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or both.

For upper eyelid surgery, small incisions are made along the natural eyelid creases to remove or reposition excess skin and fat. This approach minimizes visible scarring. For lower eyelid surgery, incisions may be placed either just below the lash line or inside the lower eyelid, depending on your anatomy and treatment goals.

Throughout the procedure, Dr. Perry uses precise techniques to ensure natural-looking results and long-term improvements in both appearance and function.
  3. Recovery
After surgery, you’ll receive detailed post-operative instructions to support your healing process. These may include applying antibiotic ointment, using cold compresses to reduce swelling, and limiting certain activities during recovery. Most patients experience only mild discomfort and return to normal routines within 1–2 weeks.

If you’re ready to rejuvenate your appearance and restore proper eyelid function, schedule a consultation with Dr. Angela Perry at Inland Eye Specialist today. Your eyes deserve expert care and a refreshed, natural look.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

At Inland Eye Specialist, our skilled oculoplastic surgeon is proud to offer brow lift surgery—also known as a forehead lift—to address drooping eyebrows (brow ptosis) and reduce forehead lines and wrinkles. This rejuvenating procedure creates a refreshed, more youthful appearance and can even improve vision for patients whose sagging brows obstruct their visual field.

For patients seeking a more comprehensive facial enhancement, a brow lift can also be performed in combination with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) for optimal cosmetic and functional results.

Your Brow Lift Consultation

During your consultation at Inland Eye Specialist, we will thoroughly assess your eye and facial anatomy, evaluate skin quality, and review your medical history. This one-on-one discussion allows us to understand your aesthetic goals and determine whether you are a good candidate for brow lift surgery.

Based on this evaluation, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and desired outcomes.

The Brow Lift Procedure

Brow lift surgery is performed under either local or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity of the procedure and your preferences. Several surgical techniques may be used, including:

  • Direct brow lift: Incisions are made just above or under the eyebrows.
  • Endoscopic or limited-incision techniques: Small incisions are placed along the hairline or scalp.

During the procedure, the forehead and brow tissues are gently lifted, excess skin is removed, and underlying muscles may be adjusted to create a natural, elevated brow position. The skin is then carefully re-draped and sutured in place to achieve a smoother, lifted appearance.

Sutures are typically removed within 7–14 days following the procedure.

Brow Lift Recovery

Recovery from brow lift surgery usually takes about 14 days. During this time, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity and minimizing sun exposure to support proper healing. Some swelling, bruising, or mild numbness may occur, but typically resolves within a few days.

Most patients begin to see visible improvements within 2 to 4 weeks, as swelling subsides and the final results take shape.

As with any surgical procedure, brow lift surgery carries some risk of complications, though these are rare. We will provide detailed aftercare instructions and monitor your recovery closely to ensure the best possible outcome.

Ready to refresh your look and restore a more youthful brow position? Schedule a consultation with our experienced oculoplastic surgeon at Inland Eye Specialist today to learn if a brow lift is right for you.
