What is an Oculoplastic Surgeon?

An oculoplastics surgeon is a board certified ophthalmologist who has received an additional two years of training focused on plastic surgery of the eyelid and surrounding structures.

At Inland Eye Specialists, We are fortunate to have Dr. Bobby Korn M.D., Ph.D. as part of our team, utilizes the latest advances and in the care of his patients and is involved developing the latest technologies and techniques. Whether you have a cosmetic, functional or reconstructive concern, we will custom tailor your evaluation and treatment plan.

For non-invasive cosmetic rejuvenation, we offer Botox for wrinkles and fine lines, soft tissue fillers – Restylane and Juvederm, skin care treatments and Latisse for eyelash growth.

In the areas of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Korn performs blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids for droopy and sagging skin. In the lower eyelids, he treats puffy eyelid bags with lower eyelid blepharoplasty through either a hidden scar approach. He has a particular interest in blepharoplasty in Asian patients who desire a natural appearing double eyelid crease. For patients with sagging eyebrows, endoscopic forehead rejuvenation may be considered, which avoids any visible scar During your consult, he will discuss his findings and present you with the best combination of treatment options to rejuvenate your appearance.

Dr. Korn also performs the full array of functional oculoplastic surgery. Common eyelid malpositions such as drooping of the eyelid (ptosis) in both adults and in children are treated in our practice. Eyelids that are turned in (entropion) or turn out (ectropion) are also treated by restoring normal anatomy and physiology of the eyelids. He also performs revision eyelid surgery to fix complications of cosmetic surgery and has pioneered new and natural methods for repair to minimize the stigmata of failed cosmetic surgery. We also specialize in reconstructive treatment for eyelid and orbital cancers. Patients with thyroid eye disease (bulging eyes) are also successfully treated in our center.

Finally, our oculoplastics surgeon specializes in endoscopic tear duct reconstruction to treat clogged or blocked tear ducts. This modern technique creates a new tear duct through the nose using a small camera and avoids creating scar on the skin.
