Outpatient Surgery Center

Inland Eye Specialists Surgery Center was established in 1985 by Dr. Michael Duffin in Hemet, California and recently opened an additional location in Murrieta, California. In 1986 it received AAAHC accreditation, becoming the first outpatient surgery center in the area and one of the few in the state of California to receive this distinction. AAAHC (The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.) inspects, surveys and accredits centers that are able to comply with the highest national patient care standards. Inland Surgery Center has held continuous AAAHC accreditation since 1986, attesting to its commitment to excellent service. Additionally, the center is Medicare Certified and state licensed.

Since the opening of Inland Eye Specialists Surgery Center patients have been enthusiastic about being able to have their surgery performed outside the hospital! Our patients appreciate the efficiency of the surgery center and the friendly staff. Modern advances in cataract surgery and other ocular procedures have made hospitalization generally unnecessary. For example, with "no stitch" cataract surgery, most patients are back to normal activities by the next day, already seeing well, and usually are able to have a new eyeglass prescription if necessary within a couple of weeks. The 1,400 annual surgeries performed at Inland Surgery Center include surgery for cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, and corneal disease. We also perform cosmetic eyelid surgery.

Located at 361 N. San Jacinto Street in Hemet, and at 25395 Hancock Avenue, Suite 100 in Murrieta, Inland Eye Specialists Surgery Center is affiliated with Inland Eye Specialists Medical Group. Doctors Phillips, Sorenson, Tew, Spiegel, and Korn perform most of their surgeries at the Center. When our patients have eye surgery, they enjoy being treated by many of the same staff members they already know from the clinic practice. This not only helps put the patients at ease, but also enhances their continuity and quality of care. The doctors appreciate using the Center because of its state-of-the-art equipment, efficiency, and convenience.
