Latisse solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker.
Latisse is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.
The onset of the effect with Latisse solution is gradual. In clinical trials, the majority of Latisse users saw a significant improvement by 2 months.
Only Latisse has been approved by the FDA as a prescription used to grow eyleashes as a treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It also has been studied in clinical trial to demonstrate its safety and effectiveness.
You should not use Latisse solution if you are allergic to one of its ingredients. Also, tell your doctor or eye care specialist if have a history of glaucoma or elevated eye pressure.
The safety and effectiveness of Latisse was shown in a clinical trial. Ask your doctor for more information about the safety of Latisse solution, and see the Important Safety Information on the back of our brochure.
The most common side effects after using Latisse are eye itching or eye redness. These were reported by about 4% of users in the clinical trial. Latisse solution may cause other common side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where Latisse is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, change in color of the iris, eye irritation, dryness, or redness of the eyelids.
If you develop a new eye condition, have eye surgery, or develop any eye reactions you should immediately talk to your doctor about whether or not to continue using Latisse solution.
